$100,000 Maiden Races

Del Mar is offering $100,000 purses for open two-year-old maiden races, colts & fillies, on the main track. 

$70,000 Special Condition Maiden Races

Del Mar is additionally introducing new conditions for select two-year-old maiden races on the main track, restricted by auction price.

• Horses purchased for $150,000 or less at auction
• Excludes horses that RNA for more than $150,000 at auction
• Optional $100,000 claiming price

Horses may dual-qualify for Ship & Win.

Horses may qualify for both the Ship & Win and the Maiden Dirt Bonus. For Example:

Del Mar will host six automatic qualifying races during the international 2026 Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series. Breeders' Cup will pay the entry fee and provide a travel allowance* for the winner of all challenge races that starts in the Championships.

2026 Travel allowance paid for ALL Breeders' Cup starters based outside Kentucky. Challenge race winner awards may be applied to other Championship races. The Challenge winner must be nominated to the Breeders’ Cup program by the Championship’s pre-entry deadline of October 19, 2026 to receive the rewards. Horses that finish first, second, or third in selected Dirt Dozen races receive a tiered bonus bankroll that will be applicable to Breeders' Cup entry fees.

The bonus money will be accumulated towards each individual horse and may be used for any eligible dirt division. The horse must be nominated to the Breeders’ Cup program by the Championship’s pre-entry deadline of October 19, 2026 to receive the rewards.
