Turf Club Membership Rules & Regulations
It is the objective of the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club that members of the Turf Club and their guests enjoy racing in a pleasant and refined atmosphere. The following rules and procedures and designed with this in mind.
It is the responsibility of every member to conduct themselves in a courteous and reasonable manner and to abide by the established rules and procedures of the Turf Club, including the Dress Policy, and of the California Horse Racing Board. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of membership. DMTC reserves the right to cancel, revoke or suspend membership privileges with or without cause at any time in its sole discretion.
Membership cards are for the use of members only and are non-transferable. Membership cards may be used by the member named thereon or by a guest when accompanied by a member. In the event circumstances prevent the member from accompanying his guest, the guest will be admitted on the member’s card providing the member has received the approval of the Turf Club Office in advance. Membership Cards are valid for both Summer and Fall race meets.
Members found selling their credentials and/or Turf Club Guest Admission coupons, in any location, including the internet, risk losing their membership privileges.
While guests of members are welcome, members are asked to exercise proper judgment by extending guest invitations on a selective basis. Members are entirely responsible for the conduct and attire of their guests, and any violation of Turf Club rules or dress policy by guests will reflect upon the member’s standing in the Club.
Cash Guests: Members desiring to make cash guest reservations may do so by contacting the Turf Club Office in advance. The full name of each guest will be required as well as the membership card number. Guest will not be admitted unless prior arrangements have been made with the Turf Club Office. Cash guests will be charged $60.00 per ticket.
Charge Guest Coupons: For the convenience of members, a book of 20 guest coupons will be enclosed in the membership packet. These coupons are valid on any day of the meet, with the exception of Opening Day. A guest fee will be charged to the member's account upon use. In order for a guest coupon to be valid the member must sign the ticket. Loss of a Turf Club admission coupon book should be reported immediately. Additional coupon books are available to members upon request. Any member whose account is over 90 days delinquent is subject to membership privileges being revoked and must have a credit card on file for automatic billing.
Opening Day Guest Coupons: Each member is provided two Opening Day Turf Club Admission Guest Coupons that will be charged to their member account, upon use, at $150.00.
For your convenience, the Turf Club provides a monthly billing service of Turf Club Guest Admission Coupon fees through SeatGeek.com.
It is the policy of the Turf Club to accept table requests and make table assignments pursuant to procedures established by management of the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club.
Members should be aware that the membership exceeds the number of tables available, and the Turf Club Office may be unable to accommodate all requests. Reservations may be claimed only by the member in whose name the reservation is posted. All requests for tables must be made in advance and will be accepted from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. Members who do not request tables in advance or who are not assigned a table when reservations are posted may be placed on a waiting list and assigned any available tables following the first race. Please call the Turf Club Reservation Line (858) 792-4266 to make a table reservations. Table assignments may only be made by the Turf Club Office.
Cancellations must be reported by 11:00 a.m. of the race day to the Turf Club Reservation Office. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of future table reservations.
Reservations are valid until First Post unless prior arrangements have been made with the Turf Club office. While every effort will be made to accommodate all table requests, management of the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club reserves the right to assign tables at its discretion.
The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club requires daily adherence to the dress code within the Turf Club. View the Turf Club Dress Code.
The Del Mar Thoroughbred Club requires that members inform their guests of the appropriate attire for the Turf Club prior to their attendance. Children over the age of twelve (12) of members and guests are expected to conform to the Turf Club dress code.
Management reserves the right to refuse admittance to anyone considered inappropriately attired.
Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card, American Express, checks and cash are accepted as payment for membership fees, guest admissions and food & beverage orders.
Check-cashing privileges are available to Turf Club members if they so desire. Previously approved check-cashing authorizations are valid for a maximum of two years at the Membership Committee’s discretion. New members may submit a check-cashing application, which will be included with their Turf Club Membership Credentials. The membership committee reserves the right to cancel this privilege or to request a new check-cashing application from any member at any time.
Turf Club members will receive a special parking pass for Turf Club parking. If regular Turf Club parking is full, it may be necessary to use secondary locations.
Credentials for a chauffeur may be requested from the Turf Club Office. Stretch Run season privileges will be granted for the chauffeur at no additional charge.
