Del Mar Juvenile Turf Quotes

BRICE BLANC (Hollywood Don, winner) – “It went just right today. He’s got such a high cruising speed, but he’s learned to settle a bit and stay in behind horses. I’ve been getting on him from the start in the mornings and we’ve been working on getting him to settle. Last time (maiden win Aug. 12) he just put me in the race and kept going. Today it was better. He’s a nice horse with a lot of talent. Peter (trainer Miller) has done an excellent job with him and I’m glad to be along for the ride.”

TYLER BAZE (Hot Ore, second) – “He ran good; real good for a horse that hasn’t been out in a couple of months. Watch him next time. Look out.”

FLAVIEN PRAT (I’malreadythere, third) – “I had a good trip and the pace was perfect. We just got beat by two better horses today. He’ll improve off this one. He’ll be better.”

PETER MILLER (Hollywood Don, winner) – “That was good. It only took me seven weeks to get rolling here. It’s nice to win a good race, win a big race on the last weekend. The horse ran super and Brice (Blanc) gave him a great ride. He’s got a big long stride, he’s a beautiful Tapit colt that covers a lot of ground. We didn’t want him to get covered up, we wanted to keep him in the clear as much as we could. I think the ($1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf) makes a lot of sense for him. I think he’s got that quality.”
