Benjamin and Sally Warren’s Warren’s Showtime worked five furlongs at Del Mar today at 12:45 p.m. as she prepares for her start Saturday, August 22, in the Grade I, $250,000 Del Mar Oaks.

With Hall of Fame rider Mike Smith up, the 3-year-old homebred filly by Clubhouse Ride clicked off “:12s” like breaking sticks on the fast Del Mar main track.

Del Mar clocker Toby Turrell caught her in a final time of 1:00 flat with splits along the way of :12.20, :24.60, :36.60 and :48.00. He had the chestnut multiple-stakes winner going out six furlongs in 1:12.40.

The 64th Del Mar Oaks, run at nine furlongs on the Jimmy Durante Turf Course, has 18 3-year-old fillies nominated to it, though only a maximum of 14 can compete. It will be one of five Graded stakes on the Saturday card, headlined by the 30th edition of the Grade I, $500,000 TVG Pacific Classic.
