Two Winning Pick Six Tickets at Del Mar Pay $267,461 Each

 
A pair of Pick Six winning tickets Saturday on Del Mar’s races returned a hefty $267,461 apiece to their lucky owners from a total pool of $773,868 at the shore oval.
 
The winning sequence -- 6-9-9-5-4-5 – started in Race 5 when favored Seve’s Road (with Rafael Bejarano up) paid $8.20. In Race 6 it was Look Twice (Santiago Gonzalez) at $10.80; Race 7 went to Superior Status (Tyler Baze) $31.60; Race 8 – the Grade II Best Pal Stakes – went to even-money favorite Klimt (Bejarano) at $4.00; Race 9 was captured by Brainspin (Gonzalez) at $21.60, and Race 10 went to X S Heat (Gonzalez) at $23.60. Rider Gonzalez, currently second in the Del Mar jockey standings, had four winners on the afternoon.
 
One of the winning tickets was sold on track to a fan who put out $3,240 to buy it. The second ticket was sold at one of the track’s satellites, though the specifics had yet to be determined.
 
The day started with a carryover from Friday of $93,656. It drew “fresh” money of $680,212 to make up the total of $773,212.
