Unraced since winning the Autumn Days Stakes last October, 1-2 favored Toinette showed no signs of rust as she scored a convincing triumph in Del Mar’s feature race Wednesday.

With leading rider Flavien Prat in the saddle, Toinette rallied into the stretch to take command and continued on to score by a length and one-half in 1:34.85 for the mile over the infield grass circuit.

Quebec, the 5-2 second choice, closed well to be runner-up, a half-length in front of Poster Girl in the field of six older fillies and mares.

Toinette, a four-year-old daughter of Scat Daddy trained by Hall of Famer Neil Drysdale, was scoring her fifth win in seven starts. She returned $3, $2.20 and $2.10. Quebec paid $2.60 and $2.20, while Poster Girl returned $3.20 to show.
