Claimed for $40,000 in mid-September, Threefiveindia, an impressive winner on Breeders’ Cup weekend early this month, continued to pay off on his new owner’s investment with a sparkling triumph in Thursday’s featured event.

Sent postward at 1-2 odds under jockey Abel Cedillo, Threefiveindian was part of the pace from the start and drew off in the upper stretch to win by three and one-half lengths in a fast 1:09.20 for the six furlongs.

In his previous outing, November 1 at Santa Anita, the six-year-old gelding won by seven lengths traveling seven furlongs in the fast time of 1:22.81.

Haltered by trainer Peter Miller for the Rockingham Ranch of owner Gary Hartunian of Brentwood, Ca., Threefiveindia, a son of Street Hero,  scored the sixth victory of a 22-race career and paid $3, $2.40 and $2.10.

Runner-up in the five-horse field of older sprinters was 16-1 longshot Koa, paying $6.20 and $2.60, while Awesome Anywhere was third, returning $2.40.

Drayden Van Dyke was the riding star of the afternoon as he booted in three winners – Hariboux at $4.80 in the second, Speedy Justice at $4.80 in the fourth and Kittyhawk Lass at $7 in the sixth.
