The fourth running of the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Stakes will showcase nine two-year-olds running a mile on the turf course on Breeders’ Cup Friday for a pot of $200,000.

Favored for the race, Plutarch has two seconds going the distance at Del Mar. A famous pair - trainer Bob Baffert and jockey Flavien Prat – team up to send the Into Mischief colt to the gate.

Conducted is a contender at 3-1, having won on his last attempt at the distance at Santa Anita in early October. Trained by O. J. Jauregui, Hector Berrios is named to ride the bay colt.

With identical odds, Proton and Dr. Agne are both 5-1 on the morning line. The Graham Motion-trained Proton has a pair of wins under his belt going a mile and sixteenth, and will be ridden by Hall of Fame jockey, John Velazquez. Trainer Cherie DeVaux saddles Dr. Agne, ridden by Jose Ortiz.

Marcia Stortz trains underdog Italio, tabbed at 30-1 in the morning line. The California-bred colt will face a test of endurance to get the distance, having only run dirt sprints to date.

The Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance Stakes will be Race 2 with post time for the stakes approximately 12:10 PM.
