Seven fillies and mares will see who can run fastest at six panels Thursday at Del Mar in the afternoon’s allowance feature. The race is limited to California-bred females and offers a purse of $81,000.

The possible favorite in the dash is the 5-year-old homebred mare Sharp Ride, who’ll race in the silks of Harris Farms or Slugo Racing. She’s being trained by Dean Pederson and will have Able Cedillo in the tack. The grey has won four times and sports a $142,400 bankroll. She’ll come out of Post 3 Thursday.

Another mare in the lineup who’ll draw her share of backers is Carraway, Conboy or De Quevedo, et al’s Lady Gregory, a 6-year-old daughter of Unionize who has run in the top three in 23 of her 31 starts. The chestnut was a good second last out – an open allowance test at Santa Anita on June 6. She races out of the Jeff Mullins barn and will have Hector I. Berrios in the saddle.

The “baby” in the dash is the lone 3-year-old in the field in J. Kirk and Judy Robison’s Young Love. Trainer Peter Miller has saddled her for back-to-back victories this year, the last two weeks ago at Del Mar. Leading rider Juan Hernandez has the call of the grey by Grazen.

Here’s the full field for the sprint from the rail out with riders and morning line odds:

Lady Gregory (5/2); Sandy Mattei’s Lady Maryann (Armando Ayuso, 12-1); Sharp Ride (2-1); Franbkly Speaking’s Blue Wildcat (Umberto Rispoli, 8-1); Young Love (4-1); Fosness or Walker’s Eltonsingsanother (David Cohen, 10-1), and Clifford Sise Jr.’s owned and trained Danzing with Maxine (Mike Smith, 6-1).

The feature is Race 7 on an eight-race card. First post that afternoon is 2 p.m.
