Thursday is the third racing week of the summer meet at Del Mar. The feature for the day is Race 7 on an eight-race card, an allowance/claiming test that carries an $82,000 purse and has drawn an overflow field of 14 for the mile and one sixteenth on the turf. For safety purposes, only 10 horses can run on the turf course currently, meaning four of the runners entered will have to wait for another day.

A possible favorite in the feature is Hronis Racing’s Certitude, but the 4-year-old filly by City Light is going to need some help. She’s anchored on the also-eligible list and will need several scratches if she’s to go postward. If she does go, trainer John Sadler has named Hector I. Berrios to handle the reins.

A runner who is already in the lineup and looks to have a better than average shot to do well in the heat is Runamileinmyshoes, a bay filly by Street Boss who gets top rider Juan Hernanez as her pilot and has Jeff Mullins as her trainer. She’s listed at 3-1 on the morning line.

Here’s the lineup for the race from the rail out with riders and morning line odds:

Jeff Ganje’s Paris Secret (Armando Ayuso, 20-1); Red Barons Barn or Rancho Temesca’s Runamileinmyshoes (Juan Hernandez), C R K Stables’s Paradise Lake (Mirco Demuro, 6-1); Rancho Temescal Thoroughbred Partners’ Hopeful (Antonio Fresu, 4-1); R T A Family Trust’s Johanny (Kyle Frey, 20 -1); Next Wave Racing’s Baltic Fire (Serafin Carmona, 20-1); James Downey’s Circle of Trust (Kazushi Kimura, 12-1); David Racing, Giordano or Mattias’s Rugelach (Umberto Rispoli, 7-2); Martin Racing Stable D and B Racing’s Candy Bar (Tyler Baze, 8-1); Exline-Border Racing, Hausman, et al’s Vibez (Hector I. Berrios 6-1). On the also-eligible list are California Racing Partners and O’Donnell’s Sakura Blossom (Diego Herrera, 20-1); Maslow or Maslow’s Royal Charter (Ayuso, 12-1); Commonwealth Thoroughbreds or Baker’s Valence (Asa Espinoza, 20-1), and Certitude (5/2).

First post Thursday is 2 p.m. The feature figures to go off at 5 p.m.
