Isner Scores $120,000 in the Pacific Classic Betting Challenge

Josh Isner’s $8,700 win bet and huge score in the last race was more than enough to best the field in Del Mar’s 9th edition of the Pacific Classic Betting Challenge. Isner grew his initial $3,000 bankroll to $53,927, earning additional prizes of $66,000 to gave him a winning total just shy of $120,000.

Isner, from Boston, MA, bested 164 total entries participating from on-track at Del Mar or online on TVG.com and Xpressbet.com.

Brian Chenvert of Rogers, MN also crushed the last race with a large exacta to boost his bankroll to $38,390 and take home second place worth another $28,000 in cash and prizes.

Third place finisher Jeannie King from Solana Beach, CA, finished with $36,774.

The top six finishers received $10,000 Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge entries. Also awarded were National Horseplayers Championship (NHC) and Del Mar Fall Challenge November 28 spots.

Participants competed for $164,000 in total cash and prizes during the fantastic Pacific Classic Day card, contributing to the second highest Pacific Classic Day handle of $29.14 million.
