Yaamava’ presents the sixth running of the Grade III Goldikova Stakes, this Saturday, November 1. Thirteen fillies and mares will run the mile on turf for a $300,000 purse. The track record to beat is a minute and thirty-two seconds.
At the top of the pack is Deep Satin by American Pharoah at 7-2 on the morning line. Trained by Cherie DeVaux, she last ran in Keeneland earlier this month and fell just short at the wire. With five outings this year, she has one win and two places to her name.
Special Wan is 2-1 on the morning line. The Irish-bred trained by Brendan Walsh will be breaking from the same post as her last race where she came home with the win. Joel Rosario will be in the irons once again for owners Team Valor International LLC.
Peter Eurton saddles Medoro, the four-year-old filly by Honor Code, breaking from the middle post where she seems comfortable. Jockey Umberto Rispoli has the call on the Kentucky-bred owned by CRK Stable LLC.
A number of three-year-old imports arrived at Del Mar for the race - one of them being Temptable out of Great Britain. She won her last race earlier this month in France for trainer Francis–Henri Graffard. Mickael Barzalona will be taking the mount on the lightest weight in the field at 118 pounds.
Nadette is one of the oldest runners in the bunch and she is familiar with the turf course, racing here earlier in the summer meet. The French mare by Outstrip is familiar with the distance with two shows on her record this year.
