Favored Thebestisyettobe storms past the competition to win Monday’s allowance feature going one and three-eighths miles on the Del Mar turf.

Next to last in the first time around the track favored Thebestisyettobe (3-2) tracked her stablemate Angelic Appeal and Antonio Fresu five lengths behind in the run up the backstretch. Passing the half mile pole Umberto Rispoli and Thebestisyettobe started their rally going three wide at the turn for home and stormed home to win by one and a half lengths.  

Sitting closer to the pace in fourth throughout the first three quarters of a mile, Resolve (4-1) with Diego Herrera up, gained the lead at the mile mark with a two and a half length advantage over the field. Ima Joker (5-1) and Hector Berrios started to cut into the margin while second going into the far turn, got within a neck behind Resolve who battled back to maintain second by a length.

Trained by Phil D’Amato, Thebestisyettobe gave Umberto Rispoli his second win of the day, thirty minutes later Rispoli would win aboard Hawker to give him his second hat trick of the week.

Owned by CYBT, Omar Aldabbagh, Michael Nentwig, and Ray Pagano, Thebestisyettobe improved her record to 11-4-2-1 and increased her earnings to $130,287.

Thebestisyettobe returned $5.00, $3.20 and $2.10. Trained by Leonard Powell, Resolve paid $3.80 and $2.60. Trained by Doug O’Neill, Ima Joker paid $2.80 to show.

Fractions on the race were 24.96, 49.85, 1:15.73, 1:40.92, 2:05.82 for a final time of 2:18.31.

Live racing resumes on Friday, first post time for a nine-race card is 12:30 PM. Friday’s feature is The Hollywood Turf Cup which goes as the seventh race with an approximate post time of 3:30 PM. Friday also marks the start of the FanDuel Racing Turf Festival on closing weekend at Del Mar.
