An even dozen Cal-bred, 3-year-old sprint fillies will match strides Friday at Del Mar in the 41st edition of the Fleet Treat Stakes at seven furlongs.

The $150,000 dash is the first of eight Golden State offerings that will be up for grabs during the 32-day stand at the shore oval this summer.

The morning line favorite (at 8/5) is Legacy Ranch’s Mohaven, a daughter of the Uncle Mo stallion Yaupon who has already won four of seven lifetime starts, including back-to-back tallies in a pair of Cal-bred stakes during the recent Santa Anita meeting.

Veteran conditioner John Sadler is at the controls for Mohaven and she has partnered nicely with California newcomer Emisael Jaramillo, who’ll once again be in the tack for this outing.

The favorite’s chief threat may be Reddam Racing’s homebred She’s No Quant, a winner of her last two starts against lesser competition who’ll be making her stakes debut Friday. The gray daughter of Pavel is conditioned by Edward Freeman and will be handled once again by riding ace Juan Hernandez. The Fleet Treat will be “Quant’s” first go-round on dirt after his four initial starts were all on the green.

The Fleet Treat, won last year by Om N Joy, will be Race 7 on an eight-race card. Post time for the stakes is likely to be 5 p.m., while first post for the afternoon will be the standard 2 p.m.
