$180 Ticket at Del Mar Wednesday Clicks for $62k Pick Six

 
A lone Pick Six ticket sold at Del Mar Wednesday for the sum of $180 earned a delighted punter a total of $62,011 on the 34th day of racing this summer. Del Mar officials identified him as a San Diegan who is a regular fan at the seaside oval.
 
The six-race sequence included one solid favorite and one notable longshot in its numbers which read 5-8-3-1-3-12.
 
Starting off the run in the day’s 3rd Race was Pragmatical, ridden by Steward Elliott and paying $14.40. The remained went as follows:  (4th Race) Heat Me (ridden by Joe Talamo) $8.60; (5th Race) King Abner (Kent Desormeaux) $33.00; (6th Race) Holy Lute (Jamie Theriot) $9.80; (7th Race) the featured Tranquility Lake Stakes won by Vale Dori (Rafael Bejarano) $3.00), and (8th) Altaira (Austin Solis) $12.00. 
 
This was the eighth time at the meet that a single ticket has captured the popular bet.
