$142,798 'Carryover' Part of 'Mandatory' Pick 6 Payout Monday

Thirteen bettors hit the Pick Six Sunday at Del Mar and each was rewarded with a payout of $11,198.80. But the track’s “Jackpot” carryover wasn’t touched and its $142,798 amount will be up for grabs to start the day Monday, the final day of the 2017 racing season.

Closing day requires a “mandatory” payout on the Pick Six and that will be the case at Del Mar Monday. The $142,798 “carry” will sweeten and stir what is likely to be a sizeable pot for the popular bet.

The Sunday sequence in the multi-race bet unfolded like this:

Race 5 -- #13 Encumbered ($9.40); Race 6 – #3 Alluring Star ($11.80); Race 7 -- #2 The Lieutenant ($13.20); Race 8 -- #5 Sharp Samurai ($6.60); Race 9 -- #3 Dukes Up ($8.60), and Race 10 – #2 Kylemore ($7.60).

First post for the holiday Monday card is 2 p.m. The Pick Six will be held on races 5 through 10.
