Since its break from the gate in 1937, Del Mar has earned its place as one of the prestige Thoroughbred racing venues in the world. Founded by Hollywood stars Bing Crosby and Pat O’Brien, celebrity has always been a part of this seaside attraction as famous personalities still call Del Mar their summertime home. Each summer season (July 21-September 8 in 2010), Del Mar combines world-class Thoroughbred racing with exciting entertainment and promotions to create a heart-pounding experience for everyone. From rock ’n’ roll concerts to premium giveaways to family events in the Infield, Del Mar is the ultimate venue to showcase great brands. For the past thirteen years, Del Mar has ranked among the top North American racetracks in total daily average attendance. In 2009, 635,679 fans attended the 7-week meet at Del Mar for a daily average of 17,178. Del Mar customers wagered over $468 million in 2009.
