Responsible Gambling

The National Gambling Impact Study Commission has focused on racing's lack of effort in responsible gaming. The management of Del Mar Thoroughbred Club is committed to promoting responsible wagering among its employees and patrons as well as promoting the awareness of problem gambling and improving prevention, intervention and treatment. President and General Manager of Del Mar, Joe Harper, heads up the statewide "Responsible Wagering" effort.

The California Council on Problem Gambling is a statewide, nonprofit organization made up of individuals from the clinical, academic and research disciplines as well as recovering compulsive gamblers, their families, and other interested parties. The Council's purpose is the promoting public education, cost-accessible treatment, research and preventing problem and compulsive gambling among juveniles and adults.
