$3,154,097 Pick Six At Del Mar
Returns $57,658 to 34 Winners

Thirty four winning tickets each were worth $57,658 Wednesday afternoon following the running of the Pick Six at Del Mar, which rose to a hearty pool of $3,154,097 following a two-day carryover into the midweek program.

Only one favorite was victorious in the six-race sequence at the shore oval on a day when trainer Doug O’Neill set a track record by saddling five winners on the afternoon. Four of those five tallies came in Pick Six races.

The Pick Six winners – starting with the third race and going through the eighth – were Jimmy Bouncer ($8.60), Tumbleweedprincess ($8), Land Over Sea ($3.40), Tatum’s Gold ($13.60), Lookin for Money ($10.80) and Saint Adalbert ($25.40). O’Neill’s Pick Six horses were Jimmy Bouncer, Tumbleweedprincess, Land Over Sea and Lookin for Money. He also won the day’s first race with Hye I’m Jack ($28.80).

Three of the 34 winning tickets with six were sold at the track. The others were purchased at the more than one thousand wagering outlets located throughout North, Central and South America. Five-winner tickets – and there were 1,401 of those – were worth $423.40.

The carryover leading into the Wednesday pool was $562,765. Chasing the pot came fresh money amounting to $2,591,332. While certainly noteworthy, the total Pick Six pool of $3,154,097 was far from the track’s largest. That occurred on September 4, 2010 with a final prize of $6,656,591.

Racing resumes at Del Mar Thursday with first post at 2 p.m.
