Tune-in the afternoon before each race day to hear commentary on the race card.
I am from a small community in western Pennsylvania, Ellwood City, about 35 miles north of Pittsburgh. I have been in California for over thirty years and became the DJ in the late 70's at a Solana Beach discotheque that was just a few furlongs from the famous Del Mar Thoroughbred Club. That's where I became introduced to horseracing. The jockeys, trainers, and owners would all come to the club after the races were run. That place was very special in shaping my future. I observed and learned about the interconnected industry and the world of thoroughbred handicapping.
Born at U.C.L.A. Medical Center in 1964. Ty was raised to be a champion by his Professional Bowling father (Roland), who wrote a book with Dick Weber (Weber on Bowling). My father introduced me to horse racing at 11 years old when he took me to opening day at Santa Anita. My passion has always been for horse racing and handicapping and in 2001 I retired and decided to make a living playing the horses.
