Significant Player Program FAQ's
Dear Racing Fan,
California Racing is always seeking new ways to offer maximum reward benefits to our valued
racing fans, therefore, there have been changes made in the rewards program for players
participating in the Significant Player Program at their track or satellite facility. The Significant
Player Program rewards those players who wager $20,000 or more in a single calendar month on
California Thoroughbred and Fair race meets (the “Monthly Threshold Amount”).
Please read on for answers to frequently asked questions.
Who is eligible for this program?
You are eligible for the program if you use one of the following cards to wager and earn points
that meet the Monthly Threshold Amount:
- Thoroughbreds Club Card (Santa Anita Park and Golden Gate Fields)
- Gold Club Card (Hollywood Park)
- Diamond Club Card (Del Mar Thoroughbred Club and Surfside Race Place)
|
- RaceFan ClubCard (Fairplex Park)
- Racing Rewards Card (Los Alamitos Race Course)
- Cal Racing Club Card (all Fair satellites)
|
How does it work?
Players who wager the Monthly Threshold Amount ($20,000), will earn one point for each dollar
they wager using the card of their choice. Point earning is based on a calendar month which
begins on the first race day of the month and continues through the last race day of the month.
Players who earn at least 20,000 points in any given calendar month will receive a reward based
upon the total point amount earned. Rewards will be issued in the form of a coupon and mailed
to the player’s address on file. Players are able to redeem the coupons at their local track or
satellite facility.
What wagers count toward earning points?
Players earn one point for every $1 wagered on qualified races. Players can use one of the above
cards to wager on live or simulcast wagers, both on and off-track.
Points are earned on wagers made on California Thoroughbred and Fair races from 0 to 100,000
dollars wagered in any given calendar month. Once a patron has exceeded 100,000 dollars
wagered on California Thoroughbred and Fair race meets in any given calendar month, all
wagers made on day imported races in the same month will be combined with the California
Thoroughbred and Fair race meet wagers. Day imported races include any race originating
outside the State of California either domestic or international being hosted by a California
Thoroughbred or Fair race meet.

How do I begin earning points toward a reward?
Simple, just insert one of the designated loyalty membership program cards into the designated
slot on a self service or teller-manned tote machine before placing a wager.
How do I know if the tote machine read my card correctly?
If a loyalty membership program card has been properly inserted, the membership number will
briefly appear on the tote screen and also print on the ticket just below the total amount wagered.
When are points credited?
Point totals are updated at the end of each race day.
How do I know how many points I have earned?
Players may check points with designated personnel at a local track or satellite facility.
How do I receive my reward?
Rewards are issued in the form of a coupon and mailed to the player’s address that is on file at
their participating facility. Players are able to redeem the coupons at their local track or satellite
facility.
Do points roll over?
No. Each calendar month is considered a unique monthly cycle. Points earned in one calendar
month expire immediately on the first day of the subsequent month. Under no circumstances
are points carried over from month-to-month.
Can my spouse or friend and I wager on the same card to earn points?
No. If it is determined that players are using one card to earn combined points, they will be
immediately disqualified from the program.
