HATS CONTEST When: Wednesday, July 21, 11:30 - 3:00 pm Where: Plaza de Mexico Opening Day Hats Contest Opening Day will be highlighted by the unique "One and Only Truly Fabulous Hats Contest". The wearing of hats is a tradition on Opening Day at Del Mar. Hats contest entrants will be judged on creativity and style. Sign up between 11:30 am and 3:00 pm in the Plaza de Mexico located just inside the Stretch Run entrance gates. Be sure to watch the Hats Parade at 3:00 pm. Hats Categories: 1) Best Racing Theme 2) Funniest or Most Outrageous 3) Most Glamorous 4) Best Flowers/All Others Bing Crosby Grand Prize: To Be Determined Prizes: Over $2,000 in prize money First place in each category-$300 Second place in each category-$200 Third place in each category-$100 Honorable mention prizes-TBD All Hats Contest entrants will receive two free passes to the races

MARINE APPRECIATION DAY When: Monday, September 7 Come honor our troops on "Marine Appreciation Day at Del Mar". All active military receive FREE Stretch Run admission. There will be a presentation in the Winners Circle after the 4th race.
