HATS CONTEST

Opening Day will be highlighted by the unique One and Only Truly Fabulous Hats Contest. The wearing of hats is a tradition on Opening Day at Del Mar. Hats contest entrants will be judged on creativity and style by a panel of celebrity judges.

Sign up between 11:30 am and 3:00 pm in the Plaza de Mexico located just inside the Stretch Run admission gates. Be sure to watch the Hats Parade featuring all the contestants at 3:00 pm.

Hats Categories:
1) Best Racing Theme
2) Funniest or Most Outrageous
3) Most Glamorous
4) Best Flowers/All Others
5) Best Fascinator

Bing Crosby Grand Prize:
Two Round-Trip Airline Vouchers to anywhere in the U.S. aboard American Airlines (Some restrictions apply) and a $500 Studio Savvy Gift Basket featuring $250 in product and $250 in services.

Prizes:
First place in each category-$300 and $100 Studio Savvy Gift Certificate
Second place in each category-$200 and $50 Village Hat Shop Gift Certificate
Third place in each category-$100
All Hats Contest entrants receive two free admission passes for a future visit to the races.
