2012 Debutante, Futurity Nomination Forms & Stall Apps Available Online

Nominations are now available online for for Del Mar's two premier stakes for 2-year-olds, the Grade I Del Mar Debutante and the Grade I Del Mar Futurity.

The championship events will be renewed for 2012 on Saturday, September 1 (Debutante) and Wednesday, September 5 (Futurity).

The nomination fee for each race is $300 with no sustaining payments required. Both races are run at seven furlongs with $300,000 guaranteed purses. 

The 2012 Futurity is a Breeder's Cup Challenge "Win and You're In" race, meaning that the winner earns a berth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile -- including entry fees and travel allowances for the horse and its connections.

Nomination forms for the juvenile features can be downloaded on line at http://www.dmtc.com/horsemen/nomforms.php. The forms can be filled out and FAXed back to the Del Mar racing office at 858-794-1049, or nominations can be e-mailed directly to Del Mar at nominations@dmtc.com

For those missing the nomination date, there is a supplemental fee of $10,000 available for each race up until time of entry.

Stall Applications Available

Deadline for stall applications for the 2012 season is Wednesday, June 6. Forms can be downloaded from http://www.dmtc.com/frame.php?f=/horsemen/stallapp.pdf.

Del Mar's 37-day season runs from Wednesday, July 18 to Wednesday, September 5. Racing is conducted five days a week throughout the summer -- closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but open on Labor Day. First post is normally 2 p.m.
