Graduation Stakes

DEL MAR, CALIFORNIA                                             WEDNESDAY, JULY 29, 2009

GRADUATION STAKES

JOEL ROSARIO (Wolf Tail) – “He (trainer Doug O’Neill) told me to get after him a little bit early; to get him into the race. He said he could be a little lazy coming away from there. So I did and he responded well. He came running at the finish. A good finish. He might like it going farther. You don’t know with these young horses, but he might like it farther.”

VICTOR ESPINOZA (Grace Upon Grace) – “I got bumped around leaving there. I got bumped around quite a bit. It cost me the race. I only got beat a head (officially a neck) and the start cost me the race.”

ALEX SOLIS (Daylight Storm) – “I’m happy with his race. A good one for him. And he’s a one-paced horse. He’ll like it when they stretch out.”

DOUG O’NEILL (Wolf Tail) -- “He has always shown us a lot of ability, but he’s been kind of a bad boy; sort of a playboy. I’ve talked to Ed [owner-breeder Ed Delaney) about gelding him, but he doesn’t want to do that. I’m really excited to get him a victory.”
