Hollywood Park Future

Postby PeteMo » Fri Jan 04, 2013 8:45 am

HP says they will announce on Jan 17th if the summer meet is the last meet before development. Does anyone know what they are going to say? Cant imagine this is a secret.

I still think a buyer will come in at the last minute and buy the park from them.

I can't see it closing. Someone will file a stop order in court.

Also, I can't see the management giving up the game.

What possible reason would someone have to legally stop the sale?
At least at Santa Anita they could say the building has historic value as a grand ol' Art Deco piece. (They better hurry before Strom-ache covers it in gold sequenes and flashing neon lights).

The only reason HP hasn't be imploded yet was the economy and the fallout from the Bay Meadows demolition. Now that development/construction has started again at BM it might not be long before similar work is done at HP.

There is one bid out as we speak to buy HP. This company feels there is a lot of money to be made there. http://www.chancerides.com/rides/wheels_index.html

I remain hopeful that HP does not close its doors but if the closure happens, I hope the authorities will not grant more days of racing at Fairplex. I hate fairplex

"reputable" and "Del Mar Forum members" don't exist in this particular Universe. Go next door.
