Films up for awards.

Since I'm a member of the voting Academy I get quite a few screeners/dvd's this time of year.Below is just my humble opinion.
Zero Dark Thirty...Solid movie, very informative feels like a documentary at times. Close to 3 hrs long. Should have been around a 2 hour film.I doubt this film will win the Oscar.

Life Of Pi. Visually amazing, not much story feels like a cartoon.

Flight. Good movie with great performances by Denzel,Cheadle and John Goodman. May receive a couple of acting nominations. After seeing more films not as good as I thought.

Les Miserables..Another film that looks great and is best to be see on the big screen as I did.I guess you'll appreciate it more if your a choreographer or singing in your local drama theater.Hugh Jackman is way over the top.I'm surprised he's not performing with the those Frenchy Canadians running around with ribbons on poles and wearing body paint. AKA Cirky So Lay.

Silver Linings Playbook..My vote for best picture of the year. The ensemble acting is fantastic and a tear jerker ending that will have all tough guys blubbering.

Argo.. I enjoyed every minute of this film.I'm sure it will be nominated for a few Oscars and has a good shot at upsetting Lincoln for Best Picture. A must see film.

Lincoln Daniel Day Lewis puts on a acting clinic in this one and should be a lock for Best Actor.Tommy Lee Jones is good with some great funny lines. Sally Field is good but always seems to whiney to me.I'd like
to see Jennifer Lawrence upset her for Best Actress.Good movie, should be seen in the theater.Pack a lunch, this is another film that is way too long.

Django...Very entertaining film with an old school spaghetti western theme. The soundtrack is fun.Christopher Waltz is fantastic. Long movie but it moves quickly. Very violent and gory. If you love Tarentino you'll love this film.

I'll post more reviews later.

Really Fred? I just watched the screener for Flight and it made me want to drink even more! Just another 'checking those specs and Cas_hing those checks' production. Whoever greenlighted this poop should be made to watch this on a trans Atlantic flight!

Lincoln is the best movie I've seen in over 20 years. The movie is condensed down to a few months in the Lincoln presidency that revolved around the battle in congress to pass the 13th amendment. Honest Abe is human, and political in this film and his plots and plans to get the amendment passed are great.

Pretty sure DDL will get "Best Actor". Film has to be one of the top 3 nominated for an AA, don't you think? What's more interesting will be how it does in the Screen Actor's Guild voting.

Absolutely correct. If Daniel Lewis doesn't get every award for an actor that can be gotten in 1 year then something isn't right. The film should sweep the awards also.

The Master: This has to be one of the worst movies I have seen in a long time.
