here's the main thing about banning assault weapons. millions of those so called assault weapons have already been sold and are in houses, basements etc.. all over the country. so lets say they make them elligle
tomorrow. the value of those guns will go up 20 fold. the bad guys will some how find out who has them and do anything to get them. then they will be the only ones that have them other than the corrupt police.
so the only people who will have them are bad people. which will make crime go up 20 fold.

That's the real main problem, the toothpaste is out of the tube, nobody can put it back in.

The only way is this. The Government buys the back the weapons at full retail. Then destroys them or they keep what they want.
