Does anyone else have any other sources on this.

Why would I want to post a sign, like the one you suggest? What would be the point?

Why not? You can't be worried that it might make you a target, can you? Plus, the police are always there for you.
It would show the World your resolve not to own a firearm.

"So no one has ever broken into your house, period. Do you think the reason for that is because you have a gun? "

That's great! I should wait until after it happens. Got it. We are semi-retired, we are home a lot.
The point you are missing is, the police aren't there during a crime. I choose to have a firearm, you do not. That's OK. No problem.

I think gun laws would end up being like Prohibition laws - just give the underground and unlawful a (greater) chance to flourish.

There was an excellent documentary by Ken Burns on PBS awhile back, on Probition. Very enlightening. Described in detail how the Mafia really got its start, providing en masse what Prohibition was trying to stop.

Stringent gun laws would probably just be another nightmare.

Did you know that the police in England don't carry guns?
