Wonder what's up with joe talamo as of late too besides Rafael Bejarano. Bejarano got a shot to gain a win or twin on Maldonado since he's not listed on Saturday mounts

The Candyman is at GGF on Saturday to ride Royal Barrister in the 75K Gold Rush Stakes for Doug O'Neill.

I will Never understand the hype around Edwin Maldonado. I don't think he's all that. Sure his style is a speed gate rider which is nice and all but you know if it wasn't for Joel Rosario leaving to the East, he wouldn't be where he's at. Neither wouldn't some of the jocks here too getting the luck and success. So basically it was more on luck than skills. Plus Rosario can ride around in circles with him and the other riders in Southern California except for Rafael Bejarano who can give him competition. I will say the same about Martin Garcia except he can hold his own when he rides the baffert horses.

You are clueless. Ask the trainers and they will educate you. No one is more impressive since he arrived here. It's the steady
improvement that has caught everyone's eyes. He's firmly in Bonde and O'Neill's barns' now and more and more horsemen are
using him now.

Ask yourself this question: Where would he be if Joel Rosario was here huh? I see.

He put in couple of bad rides at Del Mar and and still put in a bad one the other day and David Flores took him to school that day.

I think the Gulfstream riders (i.e. Joel Rosario, John Velazquez, Javier Castellano) along with Ramon Dominguez and Rosie Napravnik can ride around in circles with him.

At least somebody agrees with me similarly. I treat this riding colony as if guys like Rafael Bejarano, Joe Talamo, Garrett Gomez, Tyler Baze, Julien Leparoux and sometimes Martin Garcia as the key players in the big races and the rest of bunch are just mediocre riders.

I don't see the hype about big nose RB. Just another rider in my opinion. Martin Garcia is a much better rider right now.
RB has huge problems and is being exposed right now. Lost top Baffert horses and his agent now books Julien Leparoux.
Remember what happened when Joel allowed his agent (Vic Stauffer at the time) to book Martin Garcia at the same time.
It was a short lived experience.

You think Leparoux is getting better mounts than Bejarano?

Overall it would be delusional of you to say Bejarano an overall better rider than Garcia because Bejarano is better than Garcia

Bejarano was aboard a 54/1 shot in the Starlet. Garcia was 5/1 and Frenchy was just under 10/1. Coincidence?
