Betfair Hollywood Park on Thursday

Postby Hollywoodmike » Thu Nov 15, 2012 4:43 pm

I know this topic continues to dominate the forum but there was absolutely no one at BHP today. I realize it was
a Thursday card and the weather was very cool and drizzly but even the regulars weren't there. :(

Anyone know what the handle was ? also the pick 5 paid darn good,

Really who cares about attendance, Handle counts.

If I could , I would shut all people out during the week.

It would, cut your operating expenses to the bone, more profit for the stock holders.

Hollywood Park would easily pull in 10K in attendance if Old School calls the first 3 races of the day, Grace the Goose Girl resurfaces on her swan boat in the infield lake, Kurt Hoover is reinstated as simulcast host, Fat Tony becomes the PR Director, RD Hubbard comes to the microphone after the 7th race to tell patrons to bet the #2 horse in the next race (a horse he owns, of course) and most of all, racing is conducted solely at night.

Who cares about attendance ?
Umm.......maybe the people such as food service & tellers that depend on that for their employment.

More profit for the stock holders ?
Hollywood as a publicly traded company went away a long time ago, same as Santa Anita.

Oh my god!! Are you serious??? 150 only went!! That's sad if its true and is that the reason that they won't report the attendance!! Even SA can do a better job attracting 2000 people on a Thursday than Hollywood Park. C'mon seriously 150 people??? Mustve been so lonely!! Scary maybe????

Thank God for the Federal Reserve. You can't have big government or big wars without them.
