Looking for Lester's 12-1 on Fri and Sat (BC)

Postby Stefan » Wed Oct 31, 2012 4:02 pm

While I'm not drifting too far from my chalk eating ways (Hello Groupie Doll and Royal Delta!), I've found some plays that might actually make me some money both days!

I'll be back with my full list of plays, but for now, here's what I'm thinking!

Fri

R6 Juvi Fillies Turf

#5 Spring Venture 5-1 - She may be overlooked because of all the Euros so I'm hoping that her odds will creep up higher than that. I love love love the way she runs. Just a great closer in a totally paceless field.

R7 Juvi Fillies

#3 Spring in the Air 15-1. Well, if Spring Venture wins the previous race, I'll hope for the double here. Ran a lights out second to the above, then clobbered a decent G1 field at Keeneland. I'm hoping for a good old fashioned speed meltdown here and she can certainly pick up the pieces in that scenario.

R8 Filly Turf

#2 Zagora 8-1. Someone else was talking about Mr Brown in a different post, and I agree. I think she's got a great chance here and she's going to be a sweet price as well.

Sat

R9

#12 Trailblazer 6-1. Was closing *fast* on Obviously last out. That was a great run off the layoff and ship. I think he's really live here and will definitely be my bet of Saturday. I have to think that he's going to go off higher than 6-1 with all the firepower in this race. I just hope that the post isn't going to kill his chances.

R12
#7 Handsome Mike 30-1. Yeah? :o Really?

Why not?

GoD might not like 1 1/4 miles...he's training like a champ...perked up last out even though he didn't beat much...HUGE price...

And, while I'm at it, I'm playing with using him, Nonios (20-1), and Richard's Kid (12-1) in some verticals. I could be laughing all the way to the bank (or the poorhouse!)

Good luck all!
Stefan

How about #2 Ceiling Kitty (GB), 12-1 in the JV Sprint Friday? Basically the race is an Alw NW of 2 other than, she's done as much or more than the favs. This will be the 3rd back off a layoff. She's been toting a lot of weight in GB also. 119 will seem like a feather to her.

I just have to chuckle at O'Brien bringing over Fame and Glory who has raced 25 times without Lasix and puts him on lasix for the Marathon.

I thought that sh...stuff was evil??

Grey Goose JV Fillies

#7 Broken Spell, 20-1

This horse started getting good after 1) going a distance, 2) getting lasix, and 3) going to turf, and did all this growing up at Saratoga and Keeneland. Got knocked out of her usual pattern of EP in her last and came from the clouds to get a fast-closing 2nd in that Gr I at Kee on the main. She breaks Beyer's own "rule" by having six Beyers in a row all faster than the prior ones. Can she do 7? Tough race in which to try.

This horse has a future, but don't swing over the pits of Hell with this horse as your rope on Friday, but I like her and she will be in all exotics.

Same connections as Optimizer.

I concure with your concurrence on Flotilla (FR), I think she's 8-1 now. 4th-place horse will be 'ALL' - heck, maybe it will be the 3rd-place winner also.
