He should be ashamed of himself for panhandling on this board for $350.

Mike,

I tell you the truth, going Saturday is going to be Disneyland on the 4th of July,

People all over the place, it will be very difficult to place a bet, get lunch or even go to the restroom, just to many people.

Everyone will have to stand in line. That's not my idea of having fun or even to gamble.

I went to opening day at Del Mar this summer. Never been in a more crowded place in my life. Remember tracks like
SA, Churchill Downs, and Belmont are huge facilities.

What would you have done pre-1980's when a typical Santa Anita weekend crowd was 20k-30k? You would have been the most miserable sap at the track.

My God, Pat! Are you implying that is possible that the money was pocketed and the BC not actually attended?

No way. Dedicated horseplayers are much more reliable than this.

Pol lyanna here believes that the BC was attended, a great day was had, much money was won, the bartender was tipped well, a lovely lady was duly impressed and taken home for a night of frivolity, and a check for triple the amount of my original investment in good human nature is in the mail.

Just wait. A trip report confirming all of this is being typed up by this mysterious Howling Wolf as we speak.

I just know it.

Looks like proof he never attended. They should be ashamed of themselves. Maybe they can at least use the money to buy some light colored clothes for where they are going because it is going to be mighty warm.
