Re: Sutherland suspended for failing Woodbine alcohol testno they don't, Canadians put them on backwards - has to do with the barometric pressure up there...
Re: Sutherland suspended for failing Woodbine alcohol test
Ernesto - Do you automatically come to a definitive conclusion every time someone runs afoul of set guidelines? Does having 2 glasses of wine make someone a destitute alcoholic and endanger their livelihood (all of a sudden)?
Re: Sutherland suspended for failing Woodbine alcohol testits just more fun to have a few drinks before you ride a horse. good thing they didnt take those tests back in the day. william shoemaker would have won about 8 thousand less races
Re: Sutherland suspended for failing Woodbine alcohol testI was just accused of disappearing so I guess I better say something here.
To CK, Amen!! To Igeteven, Meeting someone a half dozen times does not mean you know them. Especially on the track. I have worked with her. She can be very nice. She can also be a spoiled little Diva who thinks the rules apply to everyone but her and she should get concessions because she is pretty. All I can say is, welcome to real life, sweetie. Comment on the subject in general: The levels they are talking about don't even result in impairment in most people. They have those levels set to show they have zero tolerance for drinking and riding. Good for them! BUT... the level they are talking about for the first offense that resulted in the suspension Chantal got is less than 2 beers. I have n a .02 from a breath freshener and a .04 from a glass of wine. It doesn't mean she was drunk. I would be willing to bet this was her first offense. She probably had a couple drinks with lunch before the races and got popped. Dumb, yes, but this is not a sign that she's an alcoholic. It just means she had a drink when she shouldn't have. She has probably done it a hundred times and never been caught. Bet she won't ever do it again.

That's why we missed you! America must have the highest "goofs per capita" rating of any nation outside Antarctica.
Re: Sutherland suspended for failing Woodbine alcohol testThanks, Kermit!
Re: Sutherland suspended for failing Woodbine alcohol testI think one of the issues here is her weight.
Correct me if I'm wrong but if you weigh only like 117 pounds like Chantal or me, then one little tiny sip of whiskey or a single line of Coke will make you ineligible to ride according to Woodbine rules. However, if you're pleasantly plump, like say, Sluggo or Joel, then it takes a lot more to get stoned and banned for a week. Does that make sense? Vince P Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

Thank you for the reality check. We don't get enough of those here. "And Afleet Alex just ran right by Giacomo like he was standing still!"

Re: Sutherland suspended for failing Woodbine alcohol testTM
She is young, pretty, nice person, etc, She has to make her money now, a few years down the road and it's all over for her. She will get married and start a family.
Re: Sutherland suspended for failing Woodbine alcohol test
She IS married. So women can't get married and keep working? Just like women don't own hand tools? I hate it when I don't forward chain letter and I die the next day!
