Why is it that, after I've filled my tank(s) (2 vehicles) the price of gas suddenly drops? When I don't really need any gas it's cheaper than when I did.

I guess, then, you weren't around in 1973-74.

I was. In SoCal then. I remember only being able to buy gas every other day and the license plate number determined what day you could buy gas. I was driving a Pontiac Gran Prix at the time, with the biggest engine and a 4 bbl. At least gas was cheap then. There was (supposedly) a gas shortage but I don't remember the prices being hiked to ridiculous levels.

The gas prices here in Beaverton, OR are at around $3.93, 10cents higher than it was 5 days ago when I filled my tank.

in 1973 gas was about .35 cents a gallon. then we/they had the gas shortage and it shot to .75 a gallon then thier was plenty of gas. gas in australia is about $2.00 a gallon right now and it's way harder to get the gas to them. worst part is that we have enough gas in oklahoma to last this country for the next 300 years without ever getting a drop anywhere else. its all a shell game with big oil/gas and goverments rapping us. they could easily sell us gas for .25 a gallon and still make a huge profit.

Okay -- this sent me to Google.

Current average price for unleaded gas in Australia end of September was $1.46 per liter. An Australian dollar is now worth about $1.02 U.S. A liter is .264 of a gallon. That makes gas in Australia about $5.64 per gallon.

Vince couldn't care less if gas goes up to $17.00 a gallon.

I have an electric car - the only way to go, that uses Duracell’s.

I also have a Vespa that gets like over 77 MPG.

Those are my two main methods of transportation besides the Subway.

You're a fool if you have anything less (more).
