kinda enjoy seeing the "moneyball" style be competitive.

thinking the red sox wished they had kept josh reddick.

swept the yankee's 4 straight. a week ago they were thinking outside chancev at a wild card, if they can some how keep this up they are the favorite to win the world series. by far the best story so far this year in baseball. two guys on the yankee's make more than the entire oakland a's team.

won again, this time 16 to nothing, ZERO, ZILTCH

so its 7 in a row, 11 out of 12 since the all star break and 16 out of 18 this month so far.

by far the best pitching staff in the majors. have had 17 different rookies play for them so far this season and have 10 rookies on the roster right now.

best sports story of the year and no one outside of the bay area is even paying attention

the entire oakland a's team has a payroll of $54 million. across the bay the giants have two pitchers lincecum-zito who have a combined record of 12 and 17 and between them earn more than that $54 million.

Getting just a tad of pub now CK.

Did I hear that a couple years ago they had good pitching, last year their pitching coach left and they kinda sucked, and now he's back and they're sterling again?

Keep in mind I may have got some of that from Mark Grace who does our local broadcasts. He sounds like he's in constant need of a slumpbuster.

they were playing about .500 ball a 4th of the way through the season. then they went on a 9 game losing streak. looked like the same old story they were 9 games under .500 and 12 back of texas and 8 back of the angels. looked done. then they brought up three rookie pitchers who have been absolutely lights out. the one closer they have named doolittle wasnt even a pitcher 4 months ago the guy was an outfielder and get this he hurt his arm and had surgery so what do they do? make him into a pitcher. and i think he has pitched like 10 innings in his life without an earned run. the one veteran they picked up named blackley had an era of about 19.00 and was cut from his last team about a month ago. he signs with the a's and bingo he looks like don drysdale reincarnated. to top that off they have scored less runs than any team in the majors have the lowest batting average in the majors
thier best hotters are at 230, thier best pitcher has 6 wins or some such thing. they brought up a guy from the minors a couple of weeks ago he pitched 7 shut out innings only giving up 3 hits and sent him back to the minors the next day.but then last night 16 runs and shout out the bluejays.
btw they are playing right now and last i checked they were ahaed 1 zip.
