Pre-race analysis question

Are there any other tracks that have a pre-race analysis team like Mountaineer's Mark Patterson and Nancy McMichael?

I'm referring to how they thoroughly talk about each race and the horses in it. I'm not so concerned about people's top picks, what I'm looking for are the relative merits of each and every horse in the race to help make my own decision.

The TVG and HRTV folks should really consider having their guys model their presentation after what Mark and Nancy are doing. Just sit there with the PP's and talk about the actual race at hand. It's very entertaining to get the PP's and follow along with them, I think they are unique in the industry.

Obviously Keeneland doesn't do anything like this but I wish they did. But I guess if you are playing Keeneland you are supposed to know what you are doing.

Again, not looking for picks but rather a good PP analysis of each race like Mark and Nancy do.

Anything similar out there? They get part of my $20 bankroll if so.

A few tracks have in house cappers. John Hernandez @ Prairie Meadows,Jim @ Hawthorne is usually on TVG,Katie @ Canterbury and our beloved Miss Pacheco at GP and AP. I also know if you tune into Twinspires early you get a lot of opinions and picks before the card starts at most of the tracks.

I dont think that any track comes close to Mark and Nancy for doing analysis of each horse in a race. They have been the best I have heard.
Mark Posts on Pace Advantage as The Mountain Man, or maybe just MountainMan. He helps if you want to know biases and how horses did vs it.

I think iman gets what I'm talking about. Mark and Nancy are in a class by themselves. The Mountaineer simulcast is three to four hours of good horse racing entertainment.

Pretty tough to argue with the job they do at NYRA. Adding Maggie Wolfendale to the telecast was an excellent move and they cover all the relevant angles for each race.

I can't say anything about Mountaineer because I never watch it.

I would have to slightly disagree here with the Mountaineer couple being excellent handicappers or the being the best at what they do.John Hernandez is fantastic at what he does. He'll give you his top pick in the race and also who to key, use in exotics etc.I don't need a track capper to tell me what a 80-1 has done recently or why he shipped from Finger Lakes to Mtr .The crew @ GP do a great job in a short amount of time.

I would fully expect that there are handicappers on this forum such as yourself Fredo who would not have a whole lot of need for someone to walk them through the PP's. You know what you are doing and can make sense of all the stuff in there.

I've seen for instance Kermit scribble all kinds of interesting tidbits in his PP's that mean something to him.

What Mark and Nancy do for folks like me is make some sense of the N2L blah blah blah and who is coming from where and what trainer is doing what. They seem to know that circuit particularly well and are really enthusiastic about it, which helps alot.

Horse racing is a very interesting, complex sport on many levels. If Mark and Nancy can make Mountaineer almost must watch TV (I listen and watch them on the computer while watching whatever games are on the tube), imagine what someone could do with Saratoga or Keeneland.

I'm not at all interested in anybody's top 3 contenders but just like to have a little help poring through all of the horses in the PP's. The areas that give me the most problems are the fractional time stuff.

I have seen some of the HRTV people approach what Mark and Nancy do, but for whatever reason I don't recall TVG ever striking the same Mark/Nancy notes.

Am looking forward to listening to those that you suggested, particularly John Hernandez.
