The only JW movie I've seen is The Cowboys. Loved that one. The cowboys (actually young boys) were the stars. JW died about half-way through.
Oops, I misspoke. I love "Red Rriver" too. What a cool movie. An absolute classic.

Re: How many movies did JohnWayne die in ?I say we get the Coen Brothers to redo all John Wayne movies with Jeff Bridges in the starring role.
While we are at it, let's redo all Charlton Heston movies as well.
Re: How many movies did JohnWayne die in ?
yea, we will get Vince P to play Ben Hur
Re: How many movies did JohnWayne die in ?Wanna see and/or read a truly great Western, Lester?
Lonesome Dove. Thank me later.

Seen it, and loved it. I would rate it 3rd 1. High Noon 2. Tombstone 3. Lonesome Dove. 4. All the Long Ranger with Clay Moore.
Re: How many movies did JohnWayne die in ?I will watch High Noon and Tombstone and give a full report.
Saw another one awhile back with Kevin Costner and Robert Duvall; called Open Range. It was pretty decent. Worth a look if you haven't seen it. Sometimes the scenery in these movies is worth the price of admission by itself.
Re: How many movies did JohnWayne die in ?deadwood, makes me want some laudenum.

Agree - one of the greatest movies ever (the original). "And Afleet Alex just ran right by Giacomo like he was standing still!"

Re: How many movies did JohnWayne die in ?Yeah, that was one of those rare movies that did the book justice. Hard to believe it was actually a made for TV mini-series. They done good.
Lonesome Dove is in the top 3 of the books I've most enjoyed in this life, next to The Executioners Song and The Stand.
