unless you are betting a ton of money on a favorite. people were betting $100s of thousands to show on oscars horses and getting 10% on thier money in less than 2 minutes and for about 2 years it was better than any investment on wall street

Wonder why they went there

Ness has been untouchable.
Maybe that will change with this raid.

Won the Laurel Stake. Dont understand why Darley, Tabor, and the others don't just give them their best stock, they see what he can do with the cheap horses, with theirs the sky's the limit.

That Stakes win today at Pimlico was just a GREAT placement for Sneaky Lil and nothing more. Sneaky Lil's figures fit right in with these other crappy Maryland breds even though she had been running against cheaper stock. She had been in the exacta in half her lifetime starts and was the 2nd leading money earner in the field. (Note, I did not wager on her so this isn't a biased posting)

My point is what I have been saying all along in this thread....Ness spots his horses perfectly and makes other trainers look silly while doing so. He may be cheating - I don't know, but imo, it's his placement of horses that give him an incredible winning percentage.

So much for the "raid" of his barn on Wednesday.

3-for-3 today so far at Tampa (he has 1 left in the 10th race) and with that 3rd winner, he has set the mark for most winners in a meet (with 69) and for sure, there are more winners to come.

He also bagged a win at Pimlico.

"Why did they search my barn and no other trainer? Simple, because we do good. Do I think that is fair? No, but I guess it comes with the territory of being on top. I am not going to apologize for winning 46%, in fact I am proud of our accomplishments. We (20 employees and 40 horses) are having a great meet at my home track and will continue to be the best we can be."

Call me a sucker (I've been called much worse as you can imagine), but I sorta believe him.
