Though he's hitting at a 43% win clip at the current Gulfstream Park meet.

He won another one at Gulfstream today (in an $62,500 optional claiming event - hoss won with ease at 6/5). 4-for-8 at Gulfstream and won another one today at Tampa.

Ness is the Oscar Barrera Sr of Florida.

Laz was pretty good too. I suspect that Oscar was a vet-trainer. It is a shame that the
true history of the Barreas has never been written. If so Luck would still be on the air.

no trainer has done what oscar did, none. single handedly new york lowered the take out on bets because of him. new york tracks were losing money because of oscar barrera so they had to lower the minimum payouts from $2.20 to $2.10 people were lining up betting $50k show tickets, people who had never even bet on horses before.

Every track should have nickel breakage. Getting $2.20 when you should be getting $2.30 adds up. Crist is right.
