We have comments now that the track was slow, the pace was slow, poor Orb was blocked inside, maybe Rosario isn't that good, etc. Stevens took the race with skill and knowledge. Had nothing to do with Orb. Two other horses beat Orb also.
Okay, I understand now. I thought it was in response to my War Emblem post(s).
My post was directed to both the subject heading and the author PS who, like the vast majority were pulling for the derby winner and were let down by his dismal performance and then a rather lackluster finish as no horse was going to catch Oxbow after such soft fractions. I do not give Orb any excuse for his loss, just general observations that could have played some part, none of which would prevent a true TC type horse from overcoming. HE was a disappointment and simply wasn't good enough on the day when the real running started. Had every chance to go track down Oxbow and apply pressure well before the far turn and could not muster a response. I do feel this is a less than stellar crop, and have felt so well before this race as I mentioned "further" exposed them.
