Saw a Jockey Take a Bad Fall Today

Postby PrivateSmiles » Sat Feb 23, 2013 3:18 pm

Can't remember which track but one of the early races. Eibar Coa, I think. TVG showed it once on replay and then when they tried to again the producers decided no way. Horse was fine, ran riderless the entire race.

Anyone have any word on the jockey?

eibar coa is retired maybe his son?

JH Coa?

I'm not even sure that's what the TVG guys said, as for jock's name. But I saw the fall twice, the race and one replay. Dang, wish I could remember which track, which race. It was a pretty spectacular fall (in a bad way). Jockey looked like he maybe cartwheeled through the air, but definitely went head over heels on the track. Ugh. Sure would like to know how he is.

Coa complained of a sore knee and was transported to a nearby hospital but was soon released. He didn't ride Sunday but is named this Thursday & Friday.

Thanks, Alpha. Apparently it wasn't nearly as bad as it looked. He must be an acrobat as well as jockey.

Keibar was in So. Cal for such a brief time last year only to have a cup of coffee and he was gone.
