So when do the media ever investigate the Casino's?

Postby Andymays » Fri Feb 15, 2013 1:27 pm

People go busted all the time and lose their homes and everything else. Ever look at the lines for the cash advances. Wealthy people have the same problem it's just that they play with bigger denominations.

The thing is, and this is a really big thing, is that the media makes a ton of money off advertising from the Indian Casino's. Does anyone think the media will ever tell people the truth about how many people they ruin? I understand that it's the persons choice but gambling is a vice like a lot of others and those that can't handle it end up down and out but nobody ever tells the stories about the millions of average people who get sucked into believing the can hit the big one.

I don't know, however, they're big business to take your money, nothing else.

Suicides aren't reported much here either. After you jump and your head explodes and before your body can bounce twice, the site is cleaned. "Nothing to see here. Move along".

I think the press is afraid of the casino and what they can do

Sometimes they report a law suit that a person wins and malfunctions.

Beyond that, it has to be big.

No big deal...people who lose their spouses and houses while gambling like fools, can always call Mr. Reddam/Cash Call for a nice quick and easy loan to get them back on their feet.

From day one I was against the proliferation of Indian casinos in California for the very reasons you mentioned. However, in a free society, people have the opportunity to mess up their lives as they see fit. The problem is that they now look to the government to pick them and support them after making their own life choices.

Up side - it got thousands off the welfare roles and many tribes are funding after-high school education for their people.

Not at all. It's just a fact. Good or bad all depends on your personal point of view.
