Bill to tax online and phone bets advances unanimously in House committee vote

FRANKFORT, KY. — A bill to tax horse racing bets made through account wagering services like Churchill Downs Inc.’s TwinSpires.com passed a legislative committee Tuesday, but its fate may be determined by a meeting of industry stakeholders Wednesday.
I hate it when I don't forward chain letter and I die the next day!

I guess the regular takeout is just never enough. I'm not a KY resident but I hope this doesn't pass. The article doesn't state whether this proposed tax would be picked up by the operators or the online bettors, but I think we all know it will be the bettors paying.

So by what this article is saying 15% would go into the Ky general fund and 85% back to the tracks and horseman? LMAO.What a joke. Sounds like a pol from California created the bill.Tax on top of the vig that's already taken out of your bet and winnings . The sky is the limit nowadays. I'm sure a greedy pol will come up with a plan to float bonds tied to wagering to give the state and tracks more of our betting dollar. It never ends.
