1. When he retires, what type of position will he have?

2. Does he still remain at the Vatican or can he move to where he wants to live ?

Any info on this would help

when a Pope quits or resigns his position Really what happens to him. As we know, this happen over 600 years ago.

I'm not a Catholic, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn.

This is the first time in 498 years a Pope has retired, so there's not a lot of precedent. There is, however, a plan.

Just after the Papal resignation yesterday, Sister Mary Hillary the Liberated, a newly decorated nun from Arkansas, secretly announced her intentions to run for the office of the Papacy. Say, now I have a serious question:

When the Pope resigns who takes over? Is it the Vice Pope, or is it the Speaker of Vatican City??

Since this is such a rare event I forgot my history on this subject.
