Flashback does not look like a mile and a quarter horse to me. Having said that , I didnt think Bodemeister or Paynter looked like Mile and a quarter horse either. Having said that , neither has won at a mile and and a quarter yet.Props to me ,I guess. ;) Flashback is not high on my Derby list, but if I had him at 100/1 or more in the future book I wouldnt feel bad.

I bet Flashback last year when I was in Vegas at the Wynn on Aaron's advise. So I am hoping he just stays healthy and gives a 1 in 20 chance of .

Gary Young, however, was more verbose. The candid private clocker, now in his 35th year of scrutinizing Thoroughbred workouts in Southern California, which includes his home base of Santa Anita, was not inclined to go overboard and put Flashback in the winner’s circle at Churchill Downs on May 4, the date of this year’s Kentucky Derby.

“I think Den’s Legacy is a solid horse, but not a Derby horse,” said Young, speaking of another Baffert Triple Crown hopeful who was second to Flashback in the Lewis.

He looked green not sore and uncomfortable.

Didn't say sore but I can see how "uncomfortable" could be interpreted that way.

My earlier post on the subject was:

Hard to evaluate the performance. He looked like he didn't know what to do without a target in front of him.
