Cohen was introduced to racing by his father, an owner and breeder in Southern California, and learned to ride horses by “breaking babies” — training his father’s young thoroughbreds to take a rider. He started his career as a jockey when he was 19, riding throughout California. This year marks his first foray into New York racing.

I remember I saw David Cohen out in Southern California when he got started did okay but actually his Travers win which is one of his signatures in his career actually this isn't his biggest. His biggest came in 2006 when he won the Dubai Golden Shaeen with Proud Tower Too. After that, his career declined for a bit here. Went to Delaware and started dominating there. Then went to NY and has started to become a top 10 rider there. I think to me now David Cohen is a better rider now than when he was when he got started out here IMO.

Cohen is ok. He likes to ride the rail aliitle more than he should for my taste but overall he is pretty good. Will be glad to see the Ortiz boys with some real competition now that Ramon is out. So sick of everyone saying how great they are.

I see. Yeah Irad and Jose Ortiz could sure use some competition since they've been tearing up that place Ramon got injured. I would've looked forward to Ramon Vs Jose since they were like back and forth for the lead in the standings. But now with Ramon sidelined, it's just the Ortiz Brothers show until now with Cohen back as you said they got compeition.

Don't doubt their talent because the Ortiz Brothers do. Irad has a good future ahead of him. Am sure he will be fine when the big boys comeback from Florida. Am a bit worried about Jose since he's new and all. I sure hope he has continued success after he losses the bug.
