Santa Anita track condition listingis there some sort of a secret ban on anything but wet fast when they track is wet? Pretty obvious track was sloppy/muddy the past two days...
Re: Santa Anita track condition listing
I was shocked when they listed yesterday's racetrack as wet-fast...It certainly appeared to me at least the racetrack should have been listed as muddy
Re: Santa Anita track condition listingBack in the old days, way before I was born, tracks went from Sloppy to Muddy to Heavy to Good to Fast.
And horses used to have an * an "X" or an "X" in a circle depending on how they liked the goo. Now they're all Wet Fast or Good. But I like the idea of Tomlnson off track ratings. Vince P Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

Vince, I am in disagreement, and have a simple question for you...How do you put a mathematical rating to quantify a pedigree????There are so many different facets to a horses pedigree, that putting a number on it seems ridiculous. In addition, there are so many fewer "off" tracks over the last 10 - 15 years with the advent of sealing tracks and not letting them get muddy, heavy, etc...that fewer and fewer pedigrees come into play over "off" tracks than they did years ago.
Re: Santa Anita track condition listingI was racehorse trainer, I can assure you that it takes at least four runs to ensure that a horse runs well in the wet or muddy or sloppy.
muddy track a horse can run well today and next time do absolutely nothing, if the horse has four or five races and all muddy track has run well, you can ensure that the horse is good in that surface. If the track is muddy I would not bet money, I just refrain from playing. is the most recommended
