Three Blind Mice Strike AgainRace 9 at Santa Anita, I didn't have an interest in the outcome of the last, but I am mystified as to how the 4 could have been disqualified for such a minor bump close to the wire. The 5 was NEVER going by the 4. Of course, all the TVG clowns that had an interest in the race said the 5 should go down.

Re: Three Blind Mice Strike AgainI didn't see the race live, but just got to see a replay. Pathetic call. If the 5 was a Baffert trainee the horse would stay up.
Re: Three Blind Mice Strike AgainIt's amazing to see the ineptitude of the stewards in the major SoCal circuit. The 5 was NEVER going to get by the 4 at any point. The "the videotape will substantiate the disqualification" bull love is old. How many times has that happened before WITHOUT the horse getting DQ'D?
The stewards' act is getting old - and it's no wonder why the sport is dying a slow death.
Re: Three Blind Mice Strike AgainI thought the tiny bump was on or just past the wire.
Re: Three Blind Mice Strike AgainNot surprising. They gotta make some noise once in awhile to justify their ridiculous daily pay.

Re: Three Blind Mice Strike AgainCould it be one or more of the stewards wagered on the race?
Vince P Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

Re: Three Blind Mice Strike AgainC'mon Vince. You know darn well stewards aren't allowed to wager. Just like trainers and owners have to single their horse in exotics and win pool or they cant bet the race. Rules are rules. Jeesh.

Stute after tiring badly going a mile last time out, FLEW FLICKER, really took to the “off” surface to post a gate-to-wire upset over this weak bottom level maiden claiming field, only to be DQ’d. The Saint Afleet gelding led early then dueled on the pace inside, inched away leaving the backside, came under pressure again leaving the far turn, clung to a short lead through the drive, Bisono switched to a left handed stick and he drifted out bumping the runner-up deep stretch, gamely held to win the photo. Very low rating, and he has never run close to this well on dry land, so a repeat is not likely. Favored PRIME ISSUE moved up to duel early, stalked leaving the backside, re-bid leaving the far turn, battled outside the winner while not able to get by through the stretch run, was bumped when nearly on even terms deep stretch, couldn’t get by. This was a very tough call as it didn’t appear the runner-up was going to get by, however, since he lost his best chance and was on near even terms when the incident happened, the Stewards (in a split decision), chose to DQ the winner, ‘ISSUE will be in trouble vs. winners. In the Winners Circle after the race, Gary Stute gave the Stewards the finger and then followed them to their cars afterwards and had some choice words for them. MAJESTIC DESERT trailed early then had one beat inside leaving the backstretch, came out around the far turn, five-wide into the stretch, lugged in noticeably, up in the last jump to garner the photo for third. STREAMOFSTEAM raced midpack inside, gained along the rail past midstretch, not good enough the final 1/16th, nailed on the wire for the show. GOT HEEM moved up to stalk the pace inside, floated a bit off the fence leaving the far turn, came out while outrun in the drive, outfinished between horses for the minor awards. He is not much. TRIBAL MONEY was bumped by SHAKERATTLENRULE at the start to lose position, raced off the pace outside, split horses around the far turn, three-deep into the stretch, offered little. He is not a whole lot, but the start hurt him. WHILLY PINK broke well, stalked two-deep down the backside, outrun leaving the far turn, four-wide into the stretch, dropped far back. SHAKERATTLENRULE broke in bumping TRIBAL MONEY, had one beat early on, dropped back to last nearing the far turn, Delgadillo lost his whip while far back at the rear in the lane, well beaten. 1. FLEW FLICKER 75 s 5. GOT HEEM 67 s 2. PRIME ISSUE 74 s 6. TRIBAL MONEY 65 s (+) 3. MAJESTIC DESERT 68 s 7. WHILLY PINK 47 s 4. STREAMOFSTEAM 68 s 8. SHAKERATTLENRULE 41 s I think Bisono switchng sticks and hitting left handed then the horse coming out and bumping the runner-up was instrumental in the DQ. Question for the Formuites...If it were Gomez or Bejarano instead of Bisono, would they have made the same call?
Re: Three Blind Mice Strike AgainMy boss even thought there should be no change, like Pat said the #5 was not going to get the #4 even if they went around again. "Clowns" on TVG is right on
