When one reads the PP and the DRF, and reviews the tapes of the horse you like, Now how do you pick a horse, what do you look for in putting down your hard earned money.
Any Tips out there in memberland.
Everyone has their own opinion on how a horse should run, but reading between the lines is a must to win
however, really what do you really look for ?

Unlike many (most?), I don't "make numbers." I look for angles, such as turf-to-dirt, 2nd time starters in maiden races, first lasix, drop-downs, trainer/jock connections, hidden internal fractions, etc., etc.

What I do in my handicapping is that I like to look at the horses recent form to see if their races their coming out of are productive races. I like to see if they made up alot of ground in the recent start. I look at workouts especially in maiden races and pedigrees to see if they're bred to go the routes or sprints. If horses are crying for more distance then I'd try to remember their races to see if that's what distance they need. I often like to pick horses if they're dropping in class or not. I like to look a percentages like jock/trainer combo, trainer percentages with layoff, 2nd time and first time out. That's how I do my handicapping.
